I would like to know if other Hunter owners have experienced moisture readings (using moisture meter) on the full lenght of the hullsides above the waterline extending 2 feet up. If so what was done to determine the cause and what was done to solve the problem.I have a fairly recent Hunter which was never involved in any accident.

Bad Reading?

I confess to being a skeptic as to meter readings after watching several people spend thousands for nothing. Did you check a neighbor's boat for comparison? Is the person using the meter well-qualified and experienced? Having a positive the entire length of the hull makes no sense at all and I would be looking for a more rational origin, like operator error. I would initiate serious research among people who know the experts in the field and get a second opinion. (If I were that concerned.) However, even then, a degree of caution is in order if your sources would stand to make money off your (supposed) misfortune. Take care and good luck. Rick D.

Moisture readings

are notoriously inaccurate. They may give a good relative reading but the actual numbers between meters is not reliable. Anyone relying on this data is suspect as well. Find someone uninvolved like a surveyer.
