I am getting ready to start the spring work on my Hunter 26 and was wondering if anyone had a useful modification for this front storage to open it up? This is a large storage area but there is such poor access it is hard to use. In Fact, it is almost more storage space than the rest of the boat put together. Thoughts?

Dude...

If you figure out how to put this big stink hole with the water tank to good use and easily get in and out of it please fill me in. That would be a worthwhile project!!!

agreed....

the problem is the weight. You can't store alot of weight in the bow or it upsets the trim. Light stuf works, but it is a pain in ths a** to get to.

Perhaps the dynamics should be brought to

Hunter to make sure any mods dont effect the strength of the structure but my initial though is this. Cut a V-hatch like the cabin entry and reinforce a pop top from all sides. I agree that we dont want too much weight in the front but I have life jackets, wine (which could use the cool setting), and clothes bins (we pack into bins and bring on boat... what a saver) so I thing we would talk less than 75 lbs. Less than one of my kids on the bow... which is their favorite place to be at times. So seriously, no one has Mod'd this? Not even George-The Mistress of Grand Travis??
