added a outboard motor mount to the bottom of the walk thru seat, so when it is in the down position, I can use my dingy outboard if needed. used a pressure treated 2 x 4 covered it with fiberglass cloth & resin, ladder is down, but outboard tilts behind it, just can't turn it around.

I would be concerned about the structural integrity of the molded part and its hinges. I believe that in a pinch the same result could be obtained by deploying the dinghy to tow the big boat. We sail an h320 and our step ladder has a crack near one of the hinge points; replacement parts are not readily available from Hunter and if it ever broke we would likely be on our own to repair the part. The weight and thrust of an engine compounded with the acceleration forces of boat movement might impart more stress on the step ladder than anticipated.
