MKII refers to the speed at which that boat is capable of making..... no seriously, that just means Mark Two as in the second version of that model.

Lots of follow on model Catalinas are designated MK II, MK III, etc. If this is your situation, go to the appropriate Catalina site, somebody can explain what it means for your make and model boat.

They have pictures, too

from the brochures on almost all of the Catalina Association websites. They can almost all be found at www.c[or Catalina][boat size, i.e., 22, 25-250,27,30,310,320,34,36,38,380, etc.].org If org doesn't work, try .com, probably for the 30s. Stu PS I'm waiting for some kidder to say Mark II means they finally got it right! Actually, I'm very pleased with my Mark I, which wasn't labeled as such when they made her in 1986!!!

Mark II

I was curious because I was looking at a 1976 Seafarer 31 MK II. That's all it means: "second version of the model"????
