mixing elbow hose

This weekend I noticed a small hole in the mixing elbow rubber hose. My question is will an auto parts store hose work just as well or should it be marine rated? Also, any hints on do's and dont do would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Use marine hose rated below the water line!

Besides, can you find that large of a diameter in the auto parts store?It's probably 2-1/2", I have never seen that on any of my cars.

I think he's talking about the hose *to* the elbow

from the exchanger; not the exhaust hose to the muffler & out. Can you clarify Rick?

This is what I did

After reading alot of history here, I went back with a 2" wet exhaust hose. I was able to get it at an auto parts store. It wasnt cheap, but I think its better not to cut corners. Thanks all for the help!
