Mixed or pure gas?

Is there a way to tell whether gas has 1:50 2cycle oil mixed in or is just gas? I tried a test comparing color but they look the same. Would it hurt to mix in an additional 1:50 to ensure the gas has oil?

It's 50-1 and no it would make it 25-1 which should run just fine just be prepared to clean spark plug if it gets oil fouled and run all gas out of carb at end of use to keep oil from fouling carb

I made that mistake.
I used to have an old Evinrude 115 on a runabout. I was of the opinion that I needed to make sure there was "enough" oil in the fuel. The problem was deposits under and around the rings. The engine required a major overhaul just due to carbon deposits. Use the factory recommendations and you should be fine. It cost me a bundle not to mention the smoke.

I would just pour what you have into a car fuel tank and start over. I've done this a few times into my Suburban with leftover fuel at the end of the season. There was enough fuel already in the tank to dilute the mix to an insignificant level.

OB oil intentionally has a die in it that should turn pumped gas from a light urine/orangish color into a greenish color. Put both into glass glasses and the difference should be quite obvious.

Try rubbing a small amount of fuel between thumb and forefinger and see if you can detect a faint oily consistency when compared to straight gas. You might also set two samples, one of known straight gas and see which one evaporates quicker. The oil residue should take a little longer. Both these methods require educated observations and might not be of help but are the simplest ones I know.

You said that you compared it to straight gas and the color is the same. The 2 cycle oil I have seen is either red, green or blue and changes the tint of the gas. My guess is you just have gas.
