I recently asked for help on my mistery water leak...water collecting in the storage compartment behind the starboard setee. I removed, cleaned and recaulked a number to deck plates but the problem continued to persist. I flooded the deck plates with a hose and found no water in the storage compartment. I flooded the forward window (light) and immediately found water seeping into the storage compartment. Next, I removed the light and found that the caulking was very skimpily applied, and that any water leak could easily enter between the inner and outer fiberglass cabin layers. After removing the old caulk, I filled the the gap between the fiberglass layers with silcone caulk, and generously resealed the light frame with the same before re-intalling it. I leak tested the repair job, but found water in the storage compartment, albiet the amount was reduced 99 percent. A second leak test revealed the third forward light to be a leaker also. I repeated the fix- procedure on this light. After two horendous rainstorms last week, the storage compartment has been dry as a bone. So, thanks for everyones replies. Hope this lesson can be shared with others.
