I have a mildew problem on my boat when she is in the water in the summer. I have two solar powered vents, one in the lazerette and one in the head. The lazerette vent has a solar charged battery so it is supposed to operate at night also. The only intake vent is the one which opens into the cockpit on the port side of the well. I assume, however, that lots of air gets in through the mast step, companionway hatch etc. - but maybe not enough air.
The water here is cold and I believe condensation is a problem. I often get out to the boat only on weekends.
Any suggestions? I have thought about putting louvered vents in the middle companionway hatch.
