Over the winter, I aquired some mildew on a Maroon sunbrella bimini. I would appreciate advice on a safe cleaner or technique for removing this yuk without harming the fabric. Thanks so much!

We have some too...

but we have Cadet Grey. I plan to use a little bleach mixed with water on a damp rag to try and eliminate it. If the bleach is not too strong, I don't think it should take the color out.....but not sure about maroon!

Loft recommendation

Had the same problem and the loft who made our's suggested Tide detergent and a brush, thoroughly rinse and treat with 303. Bleach is not a good idea Don

Start with soap (not detergent) and stiff brush

Mark: If you link up to the Sunbrella site, they recommend soap (like Ivory Flakes) but not detergent) and a stiff brush. I would suggest that you start with this treatment. If that does not work then you may want to move on to something a little stronger. I would think that a little bleach in the soapy mixture would be fine, but I would check first. Once you get it clean, be sure to give it a good treatment with 303 Sunbrella protectant.
