Hi All,

I put a new system (toilet, tank, etc) in my boat in the spring following Peggy's book. System works great put it has developed a mild odor through the summer, expecially when you open up the boat for the weekend. I generally keep the tank pumped and clear the line to the tank every night when in use. I needed to make some unrelated repairs to the toilet and I removed the 3 ft section of Trident 102 that runs from the head to the tank. I noticed that the outside of the hose has the same smell. From what I have read here, it is almost impossible for 102 to seep after 3 months. I checked it against a left over piece and there is a significant difference. The left over piece smells like rubber. Do I have a problem here or would this low level smell be normal and my expectations are too high....?

Thanks, Jeremy

Jeremy I'm guesssing...

That the outside of the hose has picked up odor from another source. 'Cuz if 102 has permeated, it's the first time in more than 10--maybe even 15- years!

So let's explore the other possibilities...and if you agree that it's much easier to talk than swap a zillion posts and emails apiece, send me a PM or an email and I'll send you voice contact info.
