Just completed a few days at Hilton Head Island and (of course) I visited most of the Marinas.

The fanciest by far was Shelter Cove and the collection of well maintained boats there was really something to see (photos below).

I also visited Harbor Town Yacht Club (Home of the Salty Dog Cafe). It is rather small but a nice location. Not much of a marina but you could launch a trailer sailor there. I also visited South Beach Marina. They have not rebuilt since the last hurricane so it is only a mooring field at the moment. Palmetto Bay and Hilton Head Marina are both nice small marinas. Next time I visit Hilton Head, I will most definitely bring my Hobie 16 down and launch at the public launch and maybe tie up at one of the local marinas for the week.

You didn't hit Windmill Harbor? It's a locked marina. It's home of the South Carolina Yacht club and has some pretty nice boats in it also. A great hurricane hole.
