I have seen mentioned in various threads on this site the installation of a midship cleat on the Hunter 29.5. There appears to be room through the chainplate access panel. Putting it on top of the rounded toe rail may prove difficult to get a backing plate under. Placed more on the side would be easier, but potentially present something sticking out that could snag things during close docking. Could anyone post a picture of their installation, and comment on how they like their positioning? Thanks for your help!

I expect that you don't have very much flat surface. If you did then a flush cleat might work for you: http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/product/Flush-Cleats-Counter-Sunk . You could cut a hole large enough to slide in a good sized backing plate. Would be great for spring lines. But again you are probably too limited in finding a flat enough area. We installed a set of these on a friend's ski boat and they worked well.
