Ugliest Traveler Ever
Guess due to lack of response that nobody has installed the worlds ugliest traveler. I didn't buy one because it totally broke up the openess of the cockpit which is one of the major attractions to the 216. Archives have a rope traveler I am not fond of either. I have been contemplating a cockpit sole traveler. Even though it would only travel a couple feet, the geometry indicates a significant travel at the end of the boom. Anybody researched or installed a cockpit sole traveler? I also think the location of the mainsheet blocks somewhat negate the need for a traveler...bearing in mind that the purpose of a traveler is to keep the sail shape (that is, leech tension) while close hauled in a heavy wind. So far I have been quite happy with using the vang for leech tension.
