Mid Boom vs. End Boom Sheeting

I'm looking at having a new boom made with 2 single line reefing points built into the boom. The vendor tells me that there is more stress with mid boom sheeting and that he would have to build up the boom to handle the additional forces. For those that have switched to mid boom, what are the benefits. Anyone willing to switch back to end boom sheeting?
Thanks,

The only advantage I can see for mid boom sheeting is possible convenience
of location. The disadvantages are more loading on the sheet and the boom
itself, and more parts needed for the mainsheet to be at the same load it
would be with end boom sheeting.

Having had a mainsheet traveler across my cockpit in a Tanzer 22, I have no
desire to own another boat with that configuration. Though I felt like it
gave me better control of boom lift and flattening the main, I paid for it
every trip with bloody shins. I also had an old Erickson 26 with the
traveller on a bridge across the coachroof that I enjoyed bay sailing. Had
a double ended mainsheet arrangement I liked a lot. Used to call it my
combo vang\mainsheet since it was so close to the mast.

Yes, I may switch back to end boom sheeting but for a different reason.
I sheet about 3/4 the way toward end of the boom. I am considering
going back to roller reefing, but if I don't I may switch back anyway. I
find that the forward end of the cockpit is where we tend to want to set
when sailing. My sheeting is to the forward end of the foot well so
sheets run across the seats where we like to set. If you jibe one or
both of us get hit with the sheet. The best place would seem to be on
the cabin top in order to be out of the way. But a new stronger boom may
be needed for that and likly more parts to the sheeting in order to get
the needed leverage. A raised track to clear the hatch would be needed
and then you have to look over top of that.If the traveller is far back
on the cabin iy is in the way of a doger. This means it has to be in
front of the dodger and that is a long way forward. on the boom. The
original sheeting may well be the most out of the way place to sheet. I
havent sailed on a Vega sheeted that way since about 1969 I don't
remeber any problem with it. I would like to hear from some whose boats
sheet back there to see what their complaints and likes are. doug
