Thanks you for your help. The water appear underneath the holding tank,I can see it come down from the corner of the settee, also on the settee and the nav station wood panel inside get wet at the left side. This happen during rain not fron healling. I am keeping a close look at it but no luck so far. Thank you Jean Guy

Well, Jean, It Could Be From A Couple of Places

Perhaps the belly starboard belly tank filler hose? Is there any evidence of leakage from the fixed ports overhead that may have migrated down the liner? I don't know. Perhaps Mickey has a better idea. One thought would be to take a water-soluble marker, like a dry-erase marker, and make a line at several points in the apparent pathway to more closely determine the route. Another, more difficult but interesting method would be to pressurize the whole boat by getting a leaf-blower or big shop vac, taping the ports, and spraying a soapy mix on the deck to see where the bubbles are. Actually, for a boat this big, maybe a high-volume blower like they use for inflatable games at kids parties would be a better choice. I did it once succesfully, but with a much smaller boat. Leaks are awful, so good luck, and here is hoping someone has a better suggestion. Rick D.

Question

Jean, When you say settee, I need to know for sure that you are talking about the long 'settee' forward of the nav station OR the small nav station seat? It makes a difference. Since it happens after a rain and if it is the nav seat that is getting wet, then it sounds like it could be those deck fittings right above such as the water fill for the belly tank, holding tank pump out, life line stanchion, genoa track or the hull to deck joint. Check the condition of the chalking on those. It could also be that the wire entry for the solar panel that is in the overhead of the aft head is poorly chalked or the seahood starboard fastening screws also could be poorly chalked and the water moves through the head liner to show itself at the nav station. Open the breaker panel and look for signs of leakage there. In that area it still could be the head inlet line vented loop that leaks when you pump the head. I've seen that on another 40.5 but it was easy to spot since it was salt water.
