Please tell me your way of handling the mast, we have tried a few things and havent found one that were comfortable with. We havent had the boat long and keep it in a slip so its up in the spring and down in the winter so we havent had much practice. I just know how "exciting" it is those few seconds you lose control. Ive read posts re. other boat models but nothing specific to the 25 and we'd really appreciate more detail if your willing to share.....you can leave it here or my email is qoti@yahoo.com.....thanks Marcie

drop the mast

I use the jib halyard fastened to the same place you fasten the tack of the jib. Remove the forward mast "keeper" pin and use the cabin top winch to slowly ease the jib halyard out. It will pivot around the aft pin. Two of us (smaller folks)guide it down, it's really not that heavy. Then remove the aft "keeper" and push the mast forward to where you like it. Be sure and support the entire mast during storage or it will not be streight next spring. OR most marina have a stationary crane you should be able to use for free. (I have a 25.5)
