Any of you blue water guys have any recommendations for sailing from Miami to the BVI? I'm planning a trip there next Spring and would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks ibesailor

I am not blue water guy

in fact, I am more of a green water guy, but I know how to surf the web. Advice is cheap and sometimes it is flat out wrong so I recommend reading stuff by people who wrote about doing it. The following link contains an article on the subject you seek info on by someone who has been there: http://www.tor.cc/articles/flcarib.htm In fact, I recommend you check all of the articles that Tor Pinney has written that interest you: http://www.tor.cc/tips.htm Apparently you sail west quite a ways, 3-4 hundred miles past the Bahamas and then head south, but the article I lined to says it much more eloquently.

The Thornless Passage

There is a great cruising guide called: "A Gentlemans Guide to Passages South" The Thornless Path to Windward. Do a search on Amazon and you will find it. Best I have seen on the subject.jr
