Methane Gas

Peggy, just a quick question. Is there any concentration of methane gas buildup within the holding tank when it is not pumped for a period of time? I.E a month or so. I'm sure temperature would be a factor. Thanks, Sean

Shouldn't be

A properly installed holding tank should be vented to the outside air.Check to make sure the vent hose/fittings aren't blocked.--Ron

Not unless the vent is blocked

All gasses including methane should escape out the vent. If your tank is working aerobically, there's no need to pump out till it's full, no matter how long it takes. See the article "holding tank odor-odor out the vent" in the Head Mistress forum reference library (link on the forum homepage).
