I'm not sure what you call them but a friend has a Hunter 22 - both sides of the deck have full length metal rails which are handy for attaching fenders, etc. Has anyone put these on their 23?
If this rail runs along the edge of the deck then it's a toe rail. Most of them have holes every four to six inches or so, and you're right, they are very handy for tying fenders, fastening snatch blocks, preventers etc.PeterH23 "Raven"
Jack:If you do not have a metal toe rail on your boat it is not practical to add one. This is part of the manufacturing process to join the hull to the deck. They typically have bolts every 4-6".
These toe rails are expensive and difficult to install/seal. A few carefully placed dead-eyes would be more cost effective. I say this but my boat has this track going stem to stern.
