davits

My davits tilt inward and not straight back,Ocean Marine davits recommends
this to be much more stronger this way.

Davits

Here are some photo's and info from ocean marine davits, some other info.
The davits on my 2007 H-36 came off a 410 hunter and think that boats
beam is wider than my 12' beam and so I don't think the width is real a problem.
I have seen some davits that do go straight back off the stern but Ocean Marine
said to do the opposite and agree with them.
The cross bar that bolts onto the ends of the davits where the Dinghy is supported is the key and the good thing about the double bars really give great support and keep the davits from swinging side to side and mine do this very
nicely.
I have a 9'6'' dinghy with roll up aluminum floor and have a Yamaha 8hp outboard
and most of the time when cruising and even at the dock keep the dinghy and
outboard on the davits when cruising,I do strap the dinghy to those cross bars
that keeps the dinghy from moving when sailing or motoring.
I think Ocean Marine davits are good quality.
Which ever davits you get make sure you have good side angle support of some kind for the ends that hoist up the dinghy.
