I am well aware that Merriman Yacht specialties has been out of business for years. The fuel control lever on my H-34 has become loose. Taking upper pedestal unit apart apart yesterday revealed a broken aluminum casing on the inside part where the shaft of the lever is supported.

Has anyone had this problem ? I am thinking of having a welder rebuild the area, then I could bore a new hole for the shaft support. Or perhaps insert an aluminum block and rebuild the lever support that way.

Ideas and suggestions welcomed. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Steve, I got the info on Ebay and thanks JTMCCUE, I copy the info on your post and will be contacting them. My current boat is a 34, but my previous one was a 28.5 and I am convinced they both are equipped with the same Merriman pedestal. The shifter holder on mine is aluminum not plastic however it looks the same as in the picture on Ebay. Thanks again

glad to be of help. FYI- I have my new lever box at the powder coater shop now. The shop said that if I just left it in brushed Aluminum(which looks great new) the salts will soon pock it up - so Its about $50 to have it coated.
