Get an Autohelm for a few bucks more

When I saw the price of the brake parts I decided an autohelm was a better investment. No regrets Barry s/v "PER DIEM too"

Barry:

I'm thinking of buying one. Which model Autohelm did you buy? Are you using it on a '31?

Look at the Simrad/Navico too.

Look at the WP300CX units too. They are extremely easy to install. Everything is on the wheel. Just run the wires down the pedestal and hook to your power source and you are ready to go. The biggest problem we had was that we needed to shim the mounting bracket but did not read the instructions close enough. We love our WP300 and would buy it again. Have not had it long enough to tell you what the long term prognosis is though.

Don, Put an Autohelm 3000 on my H34

The 31 and 34 are very similiar vessels. The autohelm 3000 works OK - I use it mainly when motoring or lowering the sails. If I had it to do over I would get the autohelm 4000 although it is more complicated to install. Barry s/v "PER DIEM too"
