Hope all you folks have a great day tomorrow. We live in large adult community about 25 miles north of Tucson, AZ. A lot of the folks that live here have son's, daughters and grand kids in the military and presently in harms way so memorial day is a time for us to remember what they are doing for us and our country. There is a cottage industry in our community that puts together packages of stuff that the AZ troops need. It gives us a lot of pleasure putting these packages together and we get nice notes back from the troops.

Next time you see a service person at the airport or anywhere, give them a smile or shake their hand. The other night, while out for dinner, a young soldier with his wife and child came in and sat near us. After we ate and before we left I gave them the usual thank you for your service smile and then I contacted their server and paid for their meal. If you get a chance maybe you could do the same every once in a while - it will really make you feel good.

I've done the "secret treat" several times and it's great fun. Fun to think about the reaction they have.

Generosity .... and oh yeah, SD was a blast on Monday

love the "fun to think about the reaction they have" as opposed to participating in it. Thanks Don for reminding me to do this more often..it is a good thing! I am currently on a pay it forward theme so it fits right in......

Beautiful day in San Diego on Monday, 7.3 out of the gate on GPS! Once I stopped worrying and started enjoying we had a ball... although my crew (read husband) was pretty tired out! :D

San Diego Bay Memorial Day

Though SD was so much fun and great wind, I have a feeling Mazatlan was stupendous! and quiet and peaceful. Though we had alot of quiet time and great sailing it was certainly a bit nuts.......... a good nuts, but nuts.
From what I could see down by the bridge, there were alot of small boats hanging there so you were probably ok!
Interesting sights
· More than the normal amount of sailing with fenders flyin'
· Watched a boat drop their main, middle of the bay, windiest spot, on a beam reach, with boom bouncing back side to side.
· The always entertaining over packed by at least 10 people party boat with bad music and dancing girls....
· The powerboat a couple slips down who lost his engine as soon as he got between us and the boats on the other side...... for the 2nd time in a month...
· Fun to watch but not probably real smart.. a 45+ ft Beneteau tacking around America's Cup ... with boats trying to raise and lower sails... quite entertaining.
Dontcha miss us!!:D
