On removing my exhaust manifold discovered only 3 apertures plus 1 blocked off, yet head and gasket where it bolts on have 4 . Any thoughts is it a blockage that needs clearing or is it intended . (second hole position from cockpit end0 on head. Rear cylinder was cold? Can send photos to any helpful member to make point clearer. Thanks guys

Had my MD6A off recently.If you get pics send to me. may be able to recognise.
On mine, there is an optional hole if you have the fresh water cooled option. Mine is external sea water cooled.rb

Do you recall the diameter of the bypass hole next to the thermostat on the front of the exhaust manifold on your MD6A. My engine has a new thermostat, but it always runs cold. The bypass had been welding up and then redrilled in a previous repair- but I'm thinking the bypass may have been redrilled too big. My engine never gets over about 50degrees C. , even under a heavy load. The thermostat tested out ok.
