MD7A Heat Exchanger

The only post I could find that referenced a retrofit of a heat exchanger was Yahoo! Groups.

My Vega was a freshwater boat, with low hours on the motor (and hull). I have run it less than a dozen times in saltwater, flushing afterwards, and would like to retrofit a heat exchanger.

My biggest question would be what coolant pump to use and how to mount it.

The second question would be if a thermostat temperature change would be in order.

Third would be any recommendations for a specific heat exchanger and expansion tank or combined unit.

Any help would be great.

Not sure about the coolant pump but you definitely should changr to a 160 to
180 degree F thermostat. The one you have is probably 140 degrees F.

This company produce the heat exchanger you are looking for.
Pump and everything in the kit

MD 6/7 installation manual.

And about the higher temp thermostat.
try contact a Volvo car dealership, some who have knowledge about their old models, Volvo 122, 142, 164, 242 - with engines B 18 - B 20 / B 19 - B 21 - B 23.
Bring your old thermostat, for comparing.
