Hello all, I hope I don't get the boot here for posting because I'm
not a Albin Vega owner...but I do have a common engine with some of
you and this is about the only place I've found that seems to even
know the word MD6B.
In April this year I purchased a Crown 28 with a MD6B inboard...all
was fine for the first couple trips out but then the throttle stopped
working..right at the injection pump pushing the throttle back and
forth did nothing...she just stayed at a constant fast idle. Although
usually the most I do is change the oil this time round I decided to
take a look inside and so I took the front panel off the pump. I
found the problem that a little pin had broken off from the inside of
the throttle valve, but unfortunately the pump itself is now in about
7 or 8 zip lock bags.
Took the pump into the local fuel injection experts (after a 12 hour
session below deck getting her off) and they say the pin broke off
because the head is seized up and the head seized up due to water in
the fuel. They say unfixable and even if I found a new head etc it
would be over $1k to rebuild.
So I'm hoping someone can please offer any advice on where to get a
2nd hand injection pump (BOSCH 0 460 302 006) ?
I've tried McDonnel Marine as someone had mentioned a couple years
back in posts but no luck....been looking for a couple months..so any
help would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin
