Check oil pressure with a proper oil gauge, could
be sensor. If confirmed then you have a worn engine (They are over 40 years
old)

Hi DavidChange the oil filter, make sure your oil is full. If the light still comes on, it's most likely the sensor is faulty. I once had a old Dodge truck that had the oil sensor light come on for no reason, and we traced it to a faulty sensor.I doubt that you can get a new sensor, but maybe you can salvage one from an dead md6a.Good LuckBob FuchsSilentium

After changing the oil filter and checking the oil level, on an engine this old I do think I’d put a direct pressure gauge to it.

Hi there,Oil pressure drop could mean a few things. One is the oil is getting warm and thinning out with will show up as low oil pressure. Second point could be the oil pump its self it is tried and getting ready to good out. Third is the gauge its self, sometimes these gauges die. If it was my engine I would look into a different oil and replace the gauge. If that doesn’t do it, change the oil pump. LarrySV-2761Lilly TooSent from Windows MailFrom: n4lbl alan.schulman@... Wow but we are aging. Two more years and Lyric will be 50. What year did production begin? Walt To: AlbinVega@yahoogroups.comFrom: AlbinVega@yahoogroups.comDate: Thu, 28 May 2015 15:55:46 +0100Subject: Re: [AlbinVega] MD6A oil pressure

According to Bluewaterboats.org, Lars Larson commissioned designer Per Brohall to build a 27 sailboat that became the Vega. The exact date of first production isn\'t mentioned, year of introduction is 1964. Production ceased in 1979. 3 450 Vegas were built in 15 years or so. :)Here is the link:Http://bluewaterboats.org/albin-vega-27/Jean-FrançoisDepuis de mon iPhoneLe 2015-05-29 à 11:25, \'steve@...\' steve@... Looking to join the Vega Rendezvous starting on August 4th but am without crew. I'm thinking of leaving the Seattle area Sunday afternoon and spending the evenings on the hook until making Friday Harbor Tuesday afternoon. Leave mid-day on Thursday with possibility of turning up in Poulsbo for the NW Cruisers event or returning to the Seattle area. This is cruising so plans are pretty open. I've got an empty v-berth, anyone interested in a sail?

Phil,I am interested in learning more about your boat and your plans. I was planning on delivering a boat back from Hawaii during that time, but this is more to my liking. Please contact me at ric.maxfield at ussailing dot net so we can exchange numbers and talk further.Thanks,Rics/v Blue Max#2692www.ric-maxfield.net
