Does anyone have a couple of new or good quality used intake valves
for a MD6A engine for sale?

Thank you for your help,
Patrick

Thanks for the tip Steve, but I didn't have any luck. I don't know the original Volvo part # for the MD6A intake valves, so I entered as much info as I could, but nothing turned up. Checked with Volvo Penta here in America, and several marine parts distributors - but no luck. Seems the part is no longer available. Any other sources in UK.
Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick-
When I had my head rebuild done last year, the volvo dealer found a
place to get new valves, however they were $200 each. I elected to
get the old ones reground. I can ask them about the new ones if you
want, or you can give them a call. Gary Woods Marine 772 287 6093

Patrick- I had another thought on valves.See if the valves for the
MD7A are available. They are slightly larger, but the head could
probably machined with new valve seats to accept them.

Thank you Richard and Steve for your replys!
Regarding the MD7A valves, I had thought of that too, but I haven't been able to determine if the valve stem length & diameter are the same for both engines. Is it only the head of the valve that is larger, and by how much ? I do have a source for the MD7A intake valves, so I would appreciate any help I could get regarding the valve demensions. I'll check with the machine shop on their thoughts this mornning. Of course the valves are available on the east coast so I can't do a side by side comparison without ponying up the money first. Getting close to putting a 4 stroke o/b on the transom for the time being.

Anyone interested in a spare pump? I have one for sale. You may reply
off list if you prefer. Thanks, Trevor (Mystic Rose V2915)

I will have a phone round and see what I can find. Only other option
will be secondhand valves.

I'll look at my overhaul manual when next I go up to the boat. I

Richard,
Thanks again for your consideration in this matter!
This morning I reviewed the Volvo parts list and diagrams that "marinepartsexpress.com" have on their web site, and after checking with the local machine shop that is doing the head work for me, I decided to buy a couple of the MD7A intake valves ($47ea), and see if the shop can adapt them to my cylinder head. If not, I can return the valves for a refund, and I'm only out the shipping cost. Should know by Wednesday or Thursday.
