Hi all,

has anyone the possibility to send or even bring to the "file"-
section the MD6 Workshop Manual in pdf format? The Combi instuction
file I already found and it was very useful in my current situation.

Hi Pekka

The workshop manual for the MD6A is available in the VAGB CDROM that is
available from the VAGB or the American Vega Club. I spent three months
transcribing the text and photos. If it is wanted then I am willing to
download
the PDF file to you. Beware that the parts for the MD6A are astronomical in
price.

Kind Regards

Hi Steve,

Three months? Don't they have scanners and OCR over there?

I see considerable mention of the MD6A, but very little re the MD7A. As you know, I have an old MD7A sitting in my garage, waiting for repair and installation. Are the two models similar? Are there many interchangeable parts, particularly accessories, such as starters, injector pumps, etc?

Hello James--I recommend that if you motor is smoking, try a straight 30 or sae 40 or even a 50 weight good quality motor oil. Do not use a 15-40 or other "multi-grade" oil as there is no such animal. If you purchase a 10-30 it really is a 10 sae oil--very thin. Oil companies can produce many more liters of oil at 10 sae than at 50 sae. Its a marketing thing. I live in a very warm area of Canada and my cars and truck use a 40 or 50 wt oil in the summer and a 20 for the winter--it works. You will find that yhour motor runs more quietly with the creamier oil. The heavier oil will protect your moving parts much better with a true filming action. jorgen

I have the Volvo MD 7A as well. I believe I might possibly have a complete manual. I say possibly because it is in storage and I have to locate it. If you send me your address, I will send you a "good wil"l copy. We have had very good luck with our MD 7A. It's a little smokey with SAE 20 but extremely fuel efficient - almost miserly at low speeds. I am going to have a professional check out the engine next spring to see what we can do to clean up the exhaust.

Many thanks for your suggestion on the smokey MD7A. If it works in Canada, it will certainly work down here where it is a lot warmer. I am going to try the heavier SAE weight single viscosity oil as you recommend.

Hi,

Thanks for the very kind offer. I would greatly appreciate it if you would locate and send me a copy of the manual. I would be happy to pay for copying, postage, etc. I had one at one time, but haven't been able to find it.

I have a MD7A in my garage that needs repair. I would like to get it running, and install it in my Vega in place of the O-22 before I tow it to Nova Scotia next spring.
