Help Needed
I have recently purchased a 1985 Hunter 25.5 and in the process of getting her ready for the water. The port side winch seems to be bound and does not operate so I have downloaded the schematics and done some research but need some guidance.
Tonight I placed a cardboard box over the winch with a hold cut the same size at the collar so I dont lose any parts. (Great idea found on this forum) I was able to remove the retaining cap, stripper ring and drum.
Next I removed the needle bearings and then the three cheese head screws. I know have the whole assembly on my workbench.
My problem is that I do not know how to take apart the Pedestal extension from the pedestal. I am scared to scratch or damage the surface. I have tried by using the stripper ring as a wrench with the pedestal held firmly. I need to get this apart cleaned and lubed for it work properly.
I have attached pics, ( the schematic is the wrong one in the picture but I do have the correct one.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
