Maxprop rebuilding - is it time?

Has anyone rebuilt a Maxprop? My surveyor says the Maxiprop blades on a Legend 45 I'm buying are loose and the hub needs rebuilding. Is there a measurable freeplay in these blades? Will they tighten up with a proper lube job. What gets rebuilt in the hub if the gears are ok? I'm cautious but curious, but it seems to me that you want "loose" blades rather than binding ones. Any thoughts out there?

My Opinion

My Max Prop is 11 years old. The boat that is next to mine "on the hard" has a Max Prop that is 3 years old and looseness is about the same. I also checked other Max Props in the marina and they all had about the same amount of looseness. Grease it up and your ready to go.
