I would like to get opinions on Maxi Props? Are they worth the price. What differences were noticed?

Whether a feathering prop is worth the price is a personal opinion. The props are not cheap but neither are the boats they go on. 1. A feathering prop will add some speed on all points of sail - .3 to .5 knots, don't know exactly, the amount, maybe this is conservative. This translates in to more sail time and less motoring time. Less wear and tear on the engine and less fuel consumption. 2. Quieter under sail; no churning noise. 3. When sailing the boat to weather it will point several degrees higher, increasing the apparent wind speed and therefore boat speed, and making for faster passages to weather. 4. Less wear and tear on the drive line, cutlass, transmission. 5. Little boats should not be able to pass you (unless you have a furling main, in which case everybody will probably still pass you except other boats with furling mains and fixed props!). Downside, besides cost: 1. Increased maintenance, should be greased annually. 2. Change zincs on prop. 3. Repair cost can be high if zincs not replaced. If there are not many replies to your post it will be because this subject has been discussed numerous times in the past in which case one might want to consider checking the archives.

John: I would recommend that you check out Kilian Props in San Leandro. Tim/Bob can give you advise and probably can sell you anything you want. These guys deal with the problems on a day to day basis, who is better than the guy that fixes this stuff?
