We are considering converting simple 2 blade fixed prop to max feathering prop. Any experience with maxi and the Baba 30? What changes in performance are to be expected with this nearly full keel 12000 lb sailboat. engine is volvo 23 hp. In particular, what are the advantages and disadvantages of 2 versus 3 blade for such a model of boat?

2 vs 3 Blade Max Prop
The 2-blade prop does not have any zincs on it so the zincs are on the prop shaft. The 3-blade prop has a zinc on the prop. I haven't experienced the 3-blade version but it is supposed to run smoother. Another difference is the 3-blade is quite a bit more expensive. The Max Prop is sold by PYI Inc. and their web site is, interestingly, www.pyiinc.com.
