Max Prop

We recently changed from our two blade 12 inch prop on our catalina 30 to a maxprop. Our prop came from the factory with a 12 pitch, several years ago in response to a TechTalk article in MainSheet, we had the prop repitched to 13. The PYI folks have suggested we set our new 13 inch MaXProp to 11.After talking to several owners we set it to the suggested 11, however I have heard from more than 1 MaxProp owner the suggested pitch is usually wrong. What is the experience of the forum?Also for those with a U25 diesel, what RPM do you cruise at?Thanks, Jim

I have a max-prop 3 blade 13" pitched to 13". Its overpitched there, max RPM @2900. ';m going to back it down to 13X12", and that will be almost ideal for the 3 blade. This is on a 89 MK II with the 23hp 25XP engine.With the prop at 13" I get 5.0 - 5.1kts at 2000 RPM.
