Max prop

I have Hunter 306 and replaced the fixed two blade with a three blade max prop. I installed with the props manufacturer recommendation, 15 X 10. I get 3.5 kts at about 3000 rpm in calm water and was powering into a 20 kt headwind and could only get 1.5 kts, I bit scary. Clearly need to increase the pitch. Has anyone experienced this with a H306 yet and what pitch did you end up with. Pulling the boat out later this week to change the pitch.

PYI would have given you the pitch etc from your gear ratio from your gearbox info. Have you communicated with them and given all the details. Used their website they are very good. I have had 2 Max props and the difference is amazing when it is properly adjusted.

No need to haul the boat to change the pitch. PYI can give you contact info for a qualified and experienced diver who can do it in the water. Likely cheaper and certainly more convenient than hauling out.

The yacht club I'm at pulling the boat is no extra cost. I did provide all the specs to PYI, trams ratio, engine, etc, etc.... I' m very confident when the pitch gets set properly ill be happy. Was hoping another H306 owner already went through this.
