Mastervolt Mass 24/100-c Battery Charger

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the above battery charger? I am asking on behalf of our friends who left the Cape Verde Islands the other day as part of the ARC + rally sailing across the Atlantic to St Lucia aboard their Oyster 49. They expect to be at sea about 20 - 25 days. About 100 miles out from the start, their 5 month old Battery Charger failed. No acrid smell and no indicating lights. It just does not seem to power up. The generator output to the distribution bus appears to be fine. The issue they are facing is that they now need to run the engine to charge the house batteries and they also need to run the generator to provide 220v to run the watermaker. Previously the generator could handle both. They now need to be much more careful with fuel consumption and obviously are not to keen on being down to one method of charging the house battery bank.

I am also attempting to contact Mastervolt to see if they can help.

No power, no lights seems like an open fuse or a tripped RCD if present. Check the 220V input wiring and connectors. If capable (safety first) verify voltage to the charger should be greater than 190V. This is general information that I hope may be helpful as I have no experience with the unit. They are probably to far out now to return so if they need assistance they need to rely in other members of the fleet. They should communicate via radio their predicament with the hope that someone may be a qualified electrician to diagnose the problem or perhaps someone may have a portable charger they could borrow.

My 100A Mastervolt charger has a fuse on both sides, supply and load. The service manuals are available online to you at mastervolt.com

I'll see what I can find out on the supply side fuse. They have confirmed that they are seeing 220v on the input terminals on the charger.

I see the RCD module on the madtervolt schematic. Is that some type of fused relay or switch module external to the charger?
