We broke our mast... so need a replacement... (daysailor model) I cannot get into the details as to how it was broken. My wife asked me not to tell... (and yes, it was her sailing the boat at the time...!) thanks Rick (proud owner of a 'rowboat' that looks remarkably like a 'daysailor'... just without the mast)... !

Rod Johnson,

Local Sparmaker?

You should be able to find a local spar builder that will have the right size extrusion for the Day sailer. Otherwise, and this can get expensive, a call to Rudy at D&R Marine in Assonet, Massachusetts will get you a mast. Expensive due to shipping and US vs Canadian dollar. That is why I suggest shopping locally first. D&R also has a website, I'll include a link, the DS mast is listed there with the USD price. Dwyer Aluminum Masts in Connecticut has all the parts and extrusions, perhaps they have a Canadian division?

Keep it cheap

A couple of ideas: One of my favorite techniques when I need something is to place an ad in the local paper stating what I am seeking. Amazing how many people will call with the item I seek, people who would never place an ad for sale-not wanting to deal with telephone calls and the hassle. I recently got a top of the line, 2 year old hot tub for less than half price! Also, hit the back lots of local boatyards and dealers, looking for a stray. Many small sailers are abandoned when the rent is not paid. Also, You might be able to buy a whole boat for less than the cost of a replacement mast, take what you need, sell the rest. I've seen boats taken to the refuse transfer station because the owner wanted the trailer, not the boat. Good Luck. Keep the slimy side down.
