Well here is my dilemma, I sail an 1981 22ft hunter; with the main and the jib up it is allot of work at the helm and as the weather increases so does the level of strain on the tiller. I heard that the mast being out of tune can cause this(or contribute to it). does any one have experience with this issue? how would one know if the boat is tuned or not?

Two easy things to check
Tighten your forestay turnbackle as much as possible to decrease rake, and make sure your rudder is cinched up tight.
Both helped me on my h23.
