Groundhog,
I don't have a diagram, however, if you go out to my website and look at the v-berth rebuild pictures on the s/v Blue Max page, you can see all of the detail of what the bow area looks like and how the bulkhead is attached. Besides the bolt attachments, the top of the bulkhead sits under the deck/hull lip. It would take a heck of a lot to pull that bulkhead loose if the plywood is in good shape. If you decide to do something along those lines, I would replace the bulkhead with a new, heavier piece of plywood and add a couple more bolts. It's actually pretty easy to remove. Of course for us 6'2" and over folks getting up into that cramped space a bit of a challenge.

Have you checked out the Gale Sail? It is a storm sail that hoists over the furled headsail and acts as a storm jib. Also keeps rollerfurling jib from unfurling. No experience with it . I just recall seeing one once.

Hi,
Yes. I was considering the gale sail but was talked out of it by several sailors in annapolis. They said it is actually much trouble to deploy as u have to go forward and ... Hug and button or zip? ... the thing around the furled headsail. It apparently looks easy in the advert but in bad weather is difficult. This is my understanding.
