Does anyone know how the mast step on a 31 is attached? I have to remove it to install a spacer to compensate for the corrosion that I will cut off the bottom of my mast. There is about 1/2" eaten away so I will cut 1" off to get into fresh material.

No replies, so this how it works

The mast step is bolted on with 4- 1/4-20 machine screws. The bolts were corroded to the aluminum mast step and had to be pounded out once the step was removed from the bilge. We then cut a 1" spacer to fit under the step and secured it with longer bolts. As soon as the rain stops we will cut 1" off the bottom of the mast.
