I need to replace the Z-Spar mast step base plate on my 1988 h33.5. Has anybody ever done this? I mean, the hardest part will be getting the 5200 to let go, right? Any advice, do's or don'ts?
Steve:Assuming that there is 5200 under the mast step. You can get a piece of piano wire and tie it to two piece of wood (use them as handles). Then you can work the wire under the step to help cut the caulking away. There is also some 5200 disolver that is suppose to work. Also the Island Girl pink will help to disolve it too. What makes you think that 5200 was used?
