Have gel coat fractures around the mast step. Since the support in the cabin is not directly under the mast has anyone come up with a good way to renforce the deck from inside and out.Wish i would have seen this before i bought the boat.

The compression post should be under the mast since it was installed on the inner edge of the bulkhead. If the Compression post is indeed under the mast then there is most likely water intrusion in the core beneath the step. This is a common problem with these boats. there is plenty of archived posts of us about repairing this problem. This could also signal problems with the core in other areas. There has been a lot of that here also. An Oday without any water intrusion is not a common animal. It's all fixable. They are great boats all in all and worth the trouble to repair them.
