I am a new member of this group and I'm currently researching Albin Vegas.
I would need a boat the is trailerable, and it appears as if some Vegas have a hinged tabernacle (hinged mast step), while other Vegas have an inset mast step.
In talking with one broker, it was presented that a crane would be needed to unstep the mast. I have seen photos of Vegas with a hinged mast step and the A-frame raising/lowering system, so I know that the hinged mast step is at least an option.
Is the hinged mast step an after market item. Does one convert a boat from a inset mast step to a hinged mast step and is this difficult or prohibitively expensive.
Thanks for any insights. The collective wisdom of this group is very much appreciated.
