I recently bought a 1994 Hunter 29,5 in San Diego and had it shipped to Gig Harbor, WA. The local boatyard cannot reconnect all the shrouds and the headstay at the same time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it seems the shrouds have "shrunk" and what might be done to get the mast rigged? The mast is currently on the boat, the boat is in the water but only 5 shrouds and the headstay are currently connected. The manager of the boatyard was going to try and get help for next week. Thanks Gerry

shrouds

I'm not excactly sure what you mean. There were two hunter 29.5, 94' setups. Both of these use significant prebend.you need to put a curve to the mast under shroud tension. This might explain why the shrouds seem short when they are not connected.I have #70 with two spreaders, the other setup has one. If you have this setup I can fax you a copy of the rigging plan and tuning instructions. EMAIL me at sailing102@aol.com if needed. Robert.
