I owned the boat briefly, but is now returning as I had given it to an old friend who died of covid last year. I remember it needed a mast step and so would love to see pictures of your mast step and find an owners manual to see how it was rigged on the boat. These smaller boats are often a simple design. Using a tabernacle for the base. As an example Dwyer Marine makes on I used on my Montgomery 15.
There is also a hinged model. Can make raising the mast a bit easier.
