Mast Spreaders

Hi,
I have the original tubular spreaders on my mast, They are old but
actually ok it is the the casting that connets them to the mast that
is starting to corrode. It is connected by a small bolt which drops
down through the casting between two lugs welded to the mast.

Anyone know where i can get replacements or what a modern upgrade
would be.

I got some replacement Spreader Hounds (the fitting attaching the spreader end to the mast fitting) from Steve Birch. They are very good and easy to fit.

Be sure to check everything out. My hounds also corroded -- I had a mast
survey by Brion Toss and told me that they needed replacing. But he also
told me that there were some cracks in the mast where the spreaders connect.
We pulled the mast and the cracks ran vertically and were really significant
-- I ended up buying a new mast as the repair would be costly too (cutting a
section out of the mast and then having a splice section made was one
option). Masts aren't cheap.
