I have seen a number of folks talk about having a mast raising winch on their trailers. - what type of winch? - how is it attached to your trailer? I was looking for winches on e-bay and there are so many models and sizes, any tips would be appreciated. -kevin

I use the winch
that is already on the trailer. I just mounted a sheave on the front of the bow pulpit for the cable to go around and connect it to the gin pole that raises the mast. My boat is a 98 hunter 260.

Reudi, if its possible would you mind posting a picture of what you mean? I used my ATV's winch to raist the mast but nearly damaged my boat and mast when I lowered it. Thanks in adavance Brad s/v KIVALO
