Mast Raising System

I just purchased a 1975 Catalina 22 2 weeks ago. I will have many questions I'm sure. This is the first Catalina I have owned. The most important question at this time is, do they have a mast raising system available? I need to raise the mast alone. If so, where would I find one and how much do they cost? Any help would be appreciated.

A solution is to stepping your mast alone

What you are looking for is called a gin pole. I'm sure you could buy one from Catalina, but it is pretty easy to make your own. The whole process is explained very well in an article called "No Fear Mast Stepping" by Ron Chappell published in the May / June , 2001 issue of Good Old Boat. For less than $100 CDN I made my own in about an hour. If you need more information let me know.

Mast raiser unit
