A few months ago I post a mast raising system for the O'Day 25. I had a chance to use it this weekend and it works. Just follow the instructions and secure the boom to the outer shrouds and use the topping lift and main sheet with only 2 purchases and lower away. I did have some help, two friends were there, but only one was needed at the mast. I lowered the mast, measured the forestay (which is 31' 1") raised it back up and secured it in 45 minutes. Be sure you do not bend the lower T-Bolt that screws into the turnbuckle, which I did. Just got finished ordering them, along with an extra. Very happy with how easy it was, and I was nervous. It worked for me too!

I also had a chance to try this system when I took my boat out of the water last week. It worked great for me too. As a matter of fact I think my two helpers were disappointed that there wasn't more work involved in getting the mast down. The only problem that I experienced is that my mainsheet was several feet too short to fully lower the mast. Other than that the system worked well. Thanks for posting the info.

Too Short Main sheet

Did you remove some of the purchase from the main sheet? I took out 2 loops and had plenty left. I am glad it helped. EJ
