I have a 2000 Hunter 212. I was told by the previous owner that it has a Hunter mast raisning system. After purchase he became somewhat vague. There are stays at the bottom of the mast on each side to be put on when rasining or lowering the mast. Does anyone know anything else about the system?

What gear do you have. Does this include a mast raising pole and two bridle wires to stabilize the mast sideways when raising. You should also have a bracket that goes across the cockpit which holds the mast in place when down for trailering. Please advise.

I have the bridle wires, I am not sure about the pole but I think there is one (I have a pole I could not id), and their is a bracket about 4 feet over the cockpit for trailering.

I checked the 212 manual available on here and it is either missing some pages or does not include the ones on mast raising - if you check with Hunter they might be able to send you the full pdf, which I would recommend. I sent a question to them a while back and had an answer inside an hour. Otherwise, if it is the same as the 240, a quick google search for Hunter 240 Owners Manual will net you the pdf with directions and a picture.

Take some photos of the unidentified pole and also the stanchions adjacent to the mast if there are any. If you have the two bridle wires, I forgot where they attach to the side but one way is to install in the mast and follow the length of the bridle wire to a point where it attaches to the boat. You should see two oblong holes part of the way up the mast say 4-6 feet up from the base and the t ball socket which goes in long way and then turns to lock into position would be the holes one on each side of the mast of course to attach the bridle wires to. Now photos please.
